BOTANICAL NAME_ Peperomia polybotrya (native to Central America + South America)

AKA_ Coin Leaf Peperomia, ‘Raindrop’ Peperomia

FEATURES_ Peperomia polybotrya, also known as the Raindrop Peperomia, due to the shape of its leaves which are large and waxy and actually store water.  The glossy leaves are a feature of this plant.

PLANT PERSONALITY_ This tropical, jungle cactus is lush and lovely and has a very sunny disposition.

PLANT PAIRING_ We have paired this glossy leafed succulent with a contrasting concrete tapered planter to emphasise the large glossy leaves and their shape.

BOTANICAL NAME_ Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Gold Flame’

AKA_ Mother in Law’s Tongue, MIL, Snake Plant

FEATURES_ An extremely low maintenance succulent perfect for indoors and popular for its architectural, variegated foliage. Sansevieria Trifasciata “Gold Flame” is considered rare among snake plants.  Its leaves are thick and arch out more than a standard Sansevieria and as it matures it turns golden, particularly, in good light.

Chinese Money Plant + Ceramic Planter



BOTANICAL NAME_ Pilea peperomioides (native to to southern China)

AKA_ Chinese Money Plant, Pancake Plant, UFO Plant,

FEATURES_ A remarkable indoor plant for beautiful, delicate greenery that branches from a single stem. Large, coin shaped foliage daintily floats off its own stem. Easy to grow and care for.

PLANT PERSONALITY_ Fits in. Lush, vibrant, bouncy and centred. Dainty and excitable. A great one for the novice indoor gardener, beautiful amongst terracotta and cactus or prettily adorning a girlish bedroom.

PLANT PAIRING_ We have paired this glossy leafed succulent with a coral cement planter to contrast the bright green of the leaves and pick up on the light pink colour in the stems.

Sansevieria ‘Lotus Hahnii’ + Cement Planter


BOTANICAL NAME_ Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Lotus Hahnii’

AKA_ Lotus Hahnii, Snake Plant, Mother in Law’s Tongue

FEATURES_ Lotus Hahnii is a form of trifasciata, of which there are 3: Golden Hahnii, Green Hahnii and this one.  Plants eventually form a rosette 10cm to 15cm tall and 12cm to 15cm wide.  Relatively slow growing, extremely low maintenance and dry tolerant. Beautiful architectural shape and foliage colour without the patterning of other snake plants. Hahnii varieties are a more compact snake plant that form a large nested rosette as opposed to tall thin blades.  Great for air purification too.


Zanzibar Gem ‘ZZ Plant’ + Ceramic Planter


BOTANICAL NAME_ Zamioculcas zamiifolia (native to Africa)

AKA_ Zanzibar Gem, ZZ Plant, Emerald Palm, Fortune Tree, Eternity Plant. It’s mandarin name is jin qian shu (金钱树) which literally means gold money tree.

FEATURES_ Possibly the hardiest indoor plant in the world! The Zanzibar Gem or ZZ Plant thrives on neglect and does extremely well in low light conditions. Deep green, waxy leaves that are more compact with more exposure to light. Also, well suited to low light areas in the home or office although leaves may elongate a little. Outdoors only in warm climates. The ZZ plant removes toxins from the air, in particular, Toluene and Xylene.

PLANT PERSONALITY_ If it were a person, it would be a pretty chilled hippie, laid back with a no care attitude and impossible to annoy. A totally green housemate.

PLANT SYMBOLISM_ Stoic and contained, long lived and a stable presence in one’s life.
