Jungle Cacti (Tropicals)

Jungle cacti are from tropical regions.  They love warmth, overhead protection and humidity.  We have to create a humid microclimate for these plants in Melbourne.  In winter I bring them inside and keep them high with plenty of bright indirect light mainly.  You can mist to create some humidity over winter and water every 2 – 3 weeks, more so in summer.  In summer, they will thrive outdoors in a warm environment with filtered morning sunlight and overhead canopy protection. This replicates their understorey existence in the rain forest where leaves and rain drop through other vegetation. Stunning plants in macrame hangers or dangling from a high shelf to create that tropical or bohemian look at home. It’s all about long luscious foliage.
